Teacher of Students with Disabilities New Jersey State Certification

This program is for licensed regular classroom teachers who seek to develop expertise in working with exceptional students in grades K-12. Teachers who successfully complete this 21-credit program will be eligible for certification as Teacher of Students with Disabilities, the license required by the state of New Jersey’s Department of Education for teaching children with disabilities in settings such as inclusive classrooms, resource centers, or self-contained classrooms.

Admissions Process

All candidates who want to be considered for admission must meet the following criteria:

  • Evidence of Certification of Eligibility (CEAS) or standard teaching license

  • Transcripts with a minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Two (2) letters of recommendation

  • Evidence of successful completion of Praxis Exam
