2013 Emerging Nonprofit Leader Award



The Center for Excellence: Leadership, Governance, and Philanthropy, in partnership with the Center for NonProfits, is pleased to announce the winners of the 2013 Emerging Nonprofit Leader Award.  The Emerging Nonprofit Leader Award was designed to promote excellence in the field by recognizing and calling attention to the promise and impact of talented nonprofit leaders. 

The Grand PrizeWinner:  

Staci Berger, Executive Director
Housing & Community Development Network of NJ

The Three Finalists:

Jorge Cruz, Director of Development and Planning
Jewish Renaissance Foundation

Marie Reger, Executive Director
Eva’s Kitchen

Alysia Souder, Executive Director
The Institute of Music for Children

The winner received a full $2000 scholarship applicable toward any of the Certificate Programs offered by the Center for Excellence. The three finalists each received a $1000 scholarship applicable toward any of the Certificate Programs as well.

The awardees were selected through an application process judged by an impartial volunteer panel of leaders of nonprofits, businesses, government and organized philanthropy.  All winners were recognized at the Center for NonProfits’ 30th Anniversary conference, “Generations of Impact,” on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at the Crowne Plaza in Jamesburg, NJ.



We would like to congratulate all of the talented nominees. Special thanks to our judges for making the time to take part in this award process; we know they faced a difficult challenge determining the final set of winners due to the impressive credentials and the caliber of the individuals that were nominated.
