Department of Management

Welcome to the homepage for the Department of Management.  We invite you to catch up on important information and events by reading our Department Newsletter

We have many exciting programs and new initiatives underway.  Here’s just a sampling:

  • Professor Twomey has developed a study-abroad course run during the Fall semester and Winter session in which students travel to Costa Rica and learn about the intersection of business, culture, and environmental concerns.  This course is open to all majors, but will count as a major elective for Management majors.
  • Professor Fairfield has developed our sophomore level Interpersonal Skills class (BUSI 2160) to include a mentoring component.  Each student in the class is paired with a local professional for a semester-long correspondence and learning experience.
  • Professors Farias and Fairfield have developed our MGMT 4303 class into a Service-Learning experience for students.  The class learns about how organizations operate by managing a series of fund-raising events for area charities.  So far, classes have raised thousands of dollars for such charities as the local food bank and the American Heart Association.
  • Professor Cleaves is the faculty mentor for the Florham Business Scholars program, which provides enhanced outside-the-classroom learning experiences for top incoming Freshman business students.  These students have also been involved in charitable activities.
