Seven-year Program (with New York University College of Dentistry)

Requirements

Students accepted into this program will spend their first three years at either FDU's College at Florham or Metropolitan Campus. The following four years will be spent at New York University College of Dentistry (NYUCD). Following successful completion of the first year of study at NYUCD, the student will be awarded a B.S. degree by FDU.

Admission to the Program

Applicants will be screened and interviewed by the Premedical Professions Advisory Committee of the appropriate college. Following approval by that committee, the application will be forwarded to NYUCD for final approval. An interview at NYUCD may be required.

Final Admission to NYUCD

Final admission in NYUCD is dependent on satisfactory completion of the following:

  1. 98 credits as listed below.
  2. A minimum grade point ratio of 3.20 with no final grade of D or F in any course listed in the appropriate sections of this catalog.
  3. The Dental Aptitude Test must be taken by the end of the fall semester of the third year at FDU, and a satisfactory score on any other such admission examination that may be required by NYUCD must be achieved.
  4. A recommendation for admission to NYUCD from the Premedical Professions Advisory Committee at the appropriate college must be obtained.
  5. Participation in any orientation programs required by NYUCD.
  6. Final entrance into the D.D.S. program, which is contingent on satisfactory performance in all six semesters at FDU, not withstanding any prior offer of admission.
