History majors may choose to specialize in American history or European history in this multidisciplinary environment. The program offers outstanding opportunities to broaden the educational experience and grow comfortable with other disciplines. Career opportunities for History majors cover a broad spectrum of professional endeavors. It prepares students for careers in both public and private sectors. It includes concentrations in Pre-Law, International and Foreign Affairs, Public and Government Service.

Political scientists study how political systems work and how they affect those they serve. The study of political science develops the skills needed to understand who in the system "gets what, when they get it and how they get it." The discipline also develops the ability to think abstractly, analyze and sort through information, investigate cause and effect and look beyond the popular and often cynical explainations of public problems to envision solutions. For these reasons, it is often the major of choice for students considering a career in law.

Opportunities for graduates of  the International Studies program cover a broad range of professional endeavors. The literacy, broad knowledge, classic economic foundation and communication skills that International studies majors gain in this program lead to successful careers in government, the law, banking, multi-national corporations, education and publishing. The curriculum is designed with an emphasis on global problems, peace and conflict resolution.

The command of a second language is becoming more and more important in the global community in which we live. Graduates of the Language & Literature programs are pursuing exciting careers in fields that place increasing emphasis on multilingual preparedness, including the airlines, banking, business, communications, foreign service, government, the hospitality industry, import and export trade, international law, multinational corporations, teaching tourism, translating and interpreting, and The United Nations.
