Fairleigh Dickinson University is a world-class institution committed to the preparation of global citizens. Our diversity is more than our strength—it’s what makes us unique.
The president sets the vision for the University and oversees its progress toward achieving its academic and strategic goals. The president is also charged with ensuring the integrity of the University’s mission. By leading a team of dedicated professionals in a unified effort toward ever-increasing excellence, the president is the vanguard of continuous improvement at Fairleigh Dickinson.
Sheldon Drucker is the seventh president of Fairleigh Dickinson University. Drucker joined FDU in 1996 as vice president for finance/treasurer and was named senior vice president and chief operating officer in 2007. Early in his FDU career, he was part of a team that helped engineer a strong financial turnaround and provided a foundation for future growth. He led the continued financial growth of the University and helped develop more than a decade of consecutive balanced budgets. He further played a major role in numerous initiatives that have forwarded the University’s global mission, including the establishment of FDU’s campus in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, which opened in 2007.
Drucker served as acting president while former president J. Michael Adams was on medical leave in 2011–2012. Adams passed away in June 2012.
Prior to joining the University, Drucker was the Chief Financial Officer of IVC Industries, Inc. (1994–1996), and Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (1979–1993). Drucker is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Management Accountants.
Drucker is supported by a strong senior leadership team including the University Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Christopher Capuano, Metropolitan Campus Provost Joseph Kiernan and College at Florham Provost Peter Woolley.
