Growing up in Wyckoff, N.J., Seth Rosenstein attended FDU because of its hotel and restaurant management program and the University’s close proximity to home. After receiving a BS degree in hotel and restaurant management in 1990, Seth returned to the University to earn an MBA in corporate finance in 1993 and a master’s certificate in accounting in 2002.
Seth feels that the ability of his professors to bring real-life experiences into the classroom made a world of difference in his learning experiences and had a strong influence on him.
Since receiving his undergraduate and graduate degrees, Seth has served in a variety of roles with increasing responsibilities at companies that included the Marriott Corporation, the National Basketball Association and Polo Ralph Lauren. He is currently chief financial officer of MWW Group, a public relations firm that ranks among the top 10 in the United States. The firm handles a variety of clients and has eight offices nationwide.
Describing his affinity for fellow FDU alumni, he states, “I’ve been in positions where I’ve interviewed and hired candidates, and any person with a Fairleigh background gets preferential treatment. Their backgrounds are like mine. We worked through school and we come from families that have a strong work ethic. That’s important to me.”
In his own words:
On pursuing graduate studies at FDU: It provided me with a different perspective. It was much more rewarding. Everyone was in a similar situation where we worked during the day and went to school at night. Everyone wanted to get the most out of it and that added to the classroom experience.
On his advice to fellow alumni: “Take the time to update your personal contact information. There’s many of us out there and we could be reaching out to each other directly to help with many things like job searches, for instance.”
On what he would tell prospective FDU students: They are making a smart decision because the University offers such a wide array of programs and an opportunity for them to be part of a multicultural student body.
