First let me remind you that the Dean of Students Office has applications for 10 different scholarships available. In addition, nominations for the Student Pinnacle are being accepted. The Student Pinnacle is the most prestigious award given at FDU, s/he will be the student speaker at Commencement. Finally, I would like to remind those students who will be graduating that they must declare their candidacy with the Enrollment Service office. Students who do not declare their intentions to graduate will not be eligible to participate in the Commencement Ceramony. Michelle Hello Student Body,

RELAY FOR LIFE KICKOFF INFO
I know that you care about finding an end to cancer, so if you’d like to join me at Relay, please visit my personal page and click the link to join my team.
At the event, we'll stay overnight in the Rothman Center and take turns walking around the track. There is an incredible ceremony to celebrate cancer survivors and caregivers that starts off the night, and a moving ceremony to honor and remember those who have fought the disease. I can truly say that Relay is a life-changing experience. It's a night full of fun, hope, and remembrance.
Whether it is through a friend, family member, the neighbor down the street, or our own personal experience, we have all been touched by cancer in some way. Please join my team. Together, we have the power to help create a world where cancer can no longer claim another year of anyone’s life.

To the Metropolitan Campus Community:
Re: Operation Care Package
Deadline: Friday, November 20, 2009
We are excited to announce an effort to send holiday cheer to our troops, the FDU way.
The Office of Enrollment services is collecting items (and/or cash donations) to build care packages to send overseas. And we need your help.
Here is the plan:
<!--[if !supportLists]-->· <!--[endif]-->We will mail several care packages directly to several specific platoons, to the attention of one of the soldiers in the platoon. Specific soldiers will be chosen at random from the respected www.anysoldier.com site.
<!--[if !supportLists]-->· <!--[endif]-->Additional care packages will be driven to McGuire Air Base in South Jersey. An organization at McGuire sends a transport to Afghanistan and Iraq three times a month, and our packages will be hitching a ride with them in early December.
Below is a list of suggested supplies and other great ideas that would brighten the day of any one of our troops. Anyone interested in donating items should choose from those listed. There are strict guidelines as to what items can be shipped abroad, so we ask that you adhere to the lists as closely as possible. Other items of interest are notes, greetings, photos or drawings to be shipped with each box and monetary donations to off-set shipping costs. (Remember to include your contact info!!)
For your convenience, we are placing drop-off boxes throughout campus, including the Provost's office in Robison Hall, Residence Life, Becton Hall (Room 300), Dickinson Hall in the MBA and Nursing offices, the Edward Williams Building, and in the Kron Administration Building.
Anyone that cannot make it to a drop box, or wishes to make a cash donation towards this effort, can do so by contacting either Lea Ronchi (x2491) or Aurora Bugallo (x2492) in the Enrollment Services Office. All donations must be submitted no later than Friday, November 20th.
We know the proclivity of the FDU Community toward making lives better for those in need, we want to thank all of you in advance for making this special project one for the record books.

The Business Leaders of Tomorrow presents an educational lecture on the etiquette of doing business in the Middle East:
Wednesday, November 11
8:00PM
Rutherford Room
Lower level of the SUB
The Middle East is an area which carries many stereotypes and myths. Before doing business in the Middle East it is imperative to learn about areas such as business culture, business etiquette, meeting protocol and negotiation techniques. Through such knowledge stereotypes are broken and barriers to communication reduced. In this workshop, recent graduate of FDU, Abdul-Aziz Ali will be addressing these issues and through an analysis of the common religion, language and culture, business etiquette will be explored.
We invite all students, faculty, and staff, that are interested in expanding their knowledge to this great opportunity!
Arabic refreshments will be served

Is Buying Books Leaving You Strapped for Cash?

Guess where the rubber duck is each month and you could win a $25 gift certificate to the FDU Bookstore!
HOW TO PLAY:
Each month the Student Life Office will post a new picture of a rubber duck at a secret location on campus. All you have to do is check out the Weekly Email, look at the picture of the duck, and guess where the picture was taken. Send your guess to jdh@fdu.edu with your name and student ID. That’s it! At the end of the month, we will draw a random entry from all those who have entered and notify the lucky winner.
NEW DUCK NEXT WEEK!
