Oracle Database 10g: Introduction to SQL 

Learn the ORACLE Database Admininstration from Fairleigh Dickinson's Dr. Harvey Lowy. 
Begin this series with an Introduction to SQL starting on during the day on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Oracle Database10g: Introduction to SQL
NO PREREQUISITE: Basic understanding of computers is expected. 

Course Objectives:

  • Search data using advanced sub queries
  • Retrieve row and column data from tables with the SELECT statement
  • Employ SQL functions to generate and retrieve customized data
  • Run data manipulation statements (DML) to update data in the Oracle Database 10g
  • Control user access and manage schema objects

PREREQUISITE: Introduction to SQL, or equivalent knowledge base.

  • Install Oracle Database 10g and configure a database
  • Manage the Oracle instance

  • Perform backup and recovery of a database
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain a database

Oracle Database 10g: Administration Workshop II
PREREQUISITE: Oracle 10g: Administration Workshop I, or equivalent knowledge base.

Course Objectives:

  • Use RMAN to create and manage Backup sets and image copies
  • Recover the database to a previous point in time
  • Use Oracle Secure Backup to backup and recover a database
  • Use Oracle’s Flashback technology to recover your database
  • Detect block corruption and take appropriate measures to correct
  • Monitor and improve performance with various Database advisors and views
  • Control database resource usage with Resource Manager
  • Simplify management tasks by using Scheduler
  • Review database log files for diagnostic purposes
  • Customize language-dependent behavior for the database and individual sessions
  • Administer a VLDB
  • Implement a secure database
  • Transport data across platforms
