International business executives and community leaders have a new opportunity for growth. Classes will be offered over the Spring 2005 Semester at the FDU Metropolitan Campus. Six 1-hour sessions will engage our students with American conversation suitable for corporate offices and boardrooms. Students will learn how to form speech patterns that enhance their topic of conversation.
Study for 6 weeks with our professors from the English Language Institute. An initial interview will be scheduled to evaluate student needs. Build presentation skills. Class size is limited.
These sessions are designed to meet the needs of those who speak English as a Second Language and want to improve their verbal skills in Standard American English.
Both written and spoken conversation is important to convey the proper message when communicating in a business environment. Topics such as delivering bad news, inter-office communication, and using proper business language will be addressed. Students will be responsible for take-home assignments that will be discussed after a break between sessions. This will provide students time to empower themselves with skills from each session learning objectives.
No text materials are required. Students work independently and on group conversation projects. Students who complete the class objectives will be more proficient in their American speaking and listening skills. Class size is limited to six persons.
