Michele Vincenti, adjunct faculty member at FDU-Vancouver, has recently published in collaboration with Dr. Matthew Jelavic the article called “The neurobiology of experience: Memory-prediction and its role in the management decision-making process”.
The article has been published by the Canadian Institute of Management’s magazine called “Canadian Managers”. The Canadian Institute of Management is Canada's senior management association. As a non-profit organization, the Institute was established in 1942 and is dedicated to enhancing managerial skills and professional development.
The article addresses how an effective manager has the capability to make accurate predictions of the future by auto-associating multiple streams of sensory information based on a wealth of experience stored in memory. This effective manager will encounter less error between prediction and outcome.
The article uses the latest knowledge from Neuroscience and in particular discusses how the understanding of the Neuron Mirrors can help managers to predict future events. The neurons we use to record what happens around us are called mirror neurons and they discharge selectively during specific motor acts.
