Business Administration BS with International Business Concentration

The International Business concentration prepares students to understand and effectively participate in the management of business firms operating in a multinational environment.  Courses examine in-depth theories and applied concepts relevant to conducting business in a competitive global arena.

Requirements for the Bachelor of Science Degree

NOTE:  The requirements below are shown for both the current degree program (15 credits of major specific courses) still in effect for fall semester 2010 and for the proposed degree program (21 credits of major specific courses) which will begin being implemented in spring semester 2011.  Any student with specific questions should contact the advisor on their home campus.

All students enrolled in Bachelor of Science Degree program must complete the University and Business Core Curriculum in addition to the major requirements listed below.

Major Requirements - International Business Concentration

Current 15 credit major                    

21 credit major as of spring 2011                

Required:

  • IBUS3201 Fundamentals of International Business
  • MKTG3371 Principles of International Marketing
  • MGMT3371 Concepts of International Management
  • ECON4208 International Trade

Elective:

  • Elective Business Course*

Required:

  • IBUS3201 Fundamentals of International Business
  • MKTG3371 Principles of International Marketing
  • MGMT3371 Concepts of International Management
  • ECON4208 International Trade

Electives (select three):

  • Elective Business Course*
  • Elective Business Course*
  • Elective Business Course*

*Courses chosen from any permissible courses offered in other SCB majors, or any permissible MIS course.  (Permissible means the student has satisfied all prerequisites for any course in which he/she wishes to enroll.) Students can select NO MORE THAN THREE COURSES IN THE SAME DISCIPLINE.
