Dr. Bill Schwartz has elected to resign his position as Dean of Silberman College of Business, effective September 30, 2006.  Dr. Schwartz’s decision is motivated by a strong desire to return to fulltime teaching and scholarly activities.  Dr. Schwartz prefers to teach at a University other than where he served as Dean and therefore will be seeking opportunities at other institutions of higher education.  The University community wishes Dr. Schwartz well in his future endeavors.

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Robert Greenfield, Professor of Economics and Finance and Assistant Provost of the Metropolitan Campus, has assumed duties as Interim Dean of Silberman College.  Dr Greenfield filled this role prior to the arrival of Dr. Schwartz and will continue the agenda of the College.  A search for the permanent dean will be undertaken in the near future.  Please join me in extending best wishes to Dr. Greenfield.
