The Master of Administrative Science MAS degree program is structured to meet the career development needs of adult learners working in diplomatic positions as well as for international agencies and not-for-profit organizations. Its primary purpose is to enhance the administrative skills of its graduates and to facilitate means of understanding to international issues.

Para Diplomáticos y la Comunidad Hispana

El programa de Maestría en Ciencia Administrativa, MAS, esta estructurado para cubrir las necesidades de mejoramiento académico de personas adultas vinculadas con cargos diplomáticos, entidades sin animo de lucro o con un interes por ampliar sus horizontes academicos como miembros de la comunidad hispana. El propósito inicial del programa es expandir las habilidades administrativas de sus graduados y facilitar los medios de entendimiento de los problemas internacionales.


Wroxton Experience 2007

Wroxton, England

July 15 - 21, 2007

Nine of the students in the Master of Administrative Science managed by Puerta Al Futuro participated in the Wroxton Experience 2007 taking the course MADS 6614: Comparative Public & Legal Systems: The United Kingdon and the United States, taught by professors William Schuber and Juan Carlos Orejarena. The group presented an analysis comparing these two systems with the one of their country of origin: Sudan, Argentina, Ecuador, Sri Lanka, Chile, Peru, Colombia and Paraguay. They also debated the arguments for and against the inclusion of Turkey into the European Union.

The students who participated are: Mohamed Yousif Abdelmannan, Silvia Abue, Santiago Chiriboga, Shaluka Ediriweera, Juan Fuenzalida, Carlos Gomez, Julian Hernandez, Nidia Piraquive and Doris Roman.

This year's academic and cultural experience presented the students a very qualified set of lectures prepared by Dean Nicholas Baldwin: a lecture by Dean Baldwin about the style and qualities of Leadership of Sir Winston Churchill; the lecture of Dr. Nigel Forman on the intricacies of the British Parliamentary system and the European Union. The following day, a visit to London guided by Dean Baldwin presenting some of the most important government buildings in London followed by a Tour of Parliament and a lecture by Sir Geoffrey Howe. Later in the week, the group participated in a lecture Chaired by Dean Baldwin and presented by Lord Richard on the Life of a Diplomat.

The cultural component of this year’s Wroxton Experience included a visit to Blenheim Palace (Churchill’s Birthplace), a visit to Strattford-upon-Avon (Shakespeare’s Birthplace) and Oxford.
