It is my great pleasure to announce that Jason Scorza has been named a 2007–2008 American Council on Education (ACE) Fellow. Jason, an associate professor of philosophy and political science, and director of University College’s School of English, Philosophy and Humanities and the School of Art and Media Studies, is one of just 39 fellows selected nationwide.
The ACE Fellows Program identifies and prepares promising senior faculty and administrators for leadership positions in university administration. The program combines seminars, interactive learning opportunities, campus visits and placement at another higher education institution for a semester or academic year. There, the fellows participate in the highest level of decision making while learning about issues that benefit their home institutions.
Jason has been a major contributor to Fairleigh Dickinson’s global education and distance learning initiatives. Among other honors, he is a recipient of the Instructional Technology Council (ITC) award for best online course and the Sloan Consortium award for best online instructor.
This is a tremendous opportunity and a great honor for Jason. It also is another demonstration of the exceptional quality of our faculty. I know you will join me in congratulating Jason and offering our best wishes for an outstanding experience.
