Frequently Asked Questions

Executive MBA FAQs

How does an Executive MBA differ from other programs?

Participants in the Executive Program earn a MBA - the same degree earned by regular MBA students. The Program is fully accredited by the AACSB - the gold standard of graduate business education and a distinction only granted to 30 percent of business schools.

In traditional MBA programs, most students are recent college graduates without much "real-world" experience. In contrast, Executive students typically have been out of school for five years or more and have substantial experience as Managers or Healthcare and Life Sciences professionals.

What concentrations are available?

Silberman's EMBA provides concentration in (a) Management and (b) Healthcare & Life Sciences.

What are the requirements for admission?

A bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college is necessary for consideration for admission. Applicants should also have a minimum of five years of Professional work experience, a strong commitment to personal success, and a desire to assume a position of leadership in the industries of the future. Two letters of recommendation, copies of transcripts, and an admissions interview with the MBA Program Director are also required. In many cases, prior professional accomplishment of the individual applicant allows a waiver of the GMAT graduate entrance examination.

When and where do classes meet?

Virtually all class sessions are conducted from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays. In addition, there are a few reserved Friday sessions to accommodate special seminars and holidays. All courses are conducted at the Hamilton Park Conference Center, adjacent to FDU's campus in Madison, New Jersey. The Hamilton Park offers a world class executive learning environment featuring state-of-the art learning technologies and a number of "executive-level" amenities.

As a component of the Program's course, an International Business Seminar is conducted abroad with leading professors and industry experts.

Is a Laptop Computer Required?

A laptop computer is not a formal requirement of the Program but is highly recommended.

Do I have to take time off from my job to buy my course books?

No. All books and other course materials are provided to students as part of regular Saturday class activities.

What is the total cost of the EMBA Program?

Total tuition for the 21-month Program is $ 69,920 inclusive of all costs. This total amount covers all program expenses, including special seminars, textbooks, university fees, meals and refreshments during class days, access to amenities at the Hamilton Park Conference Center, and the International Seminar . In contrast to other Universities that charge separately for course tuition, books, food, and other fees, EMBA's fixed investment approach, allows each student to know the exact cost of their MBA from the first day of class to graduation. Tuition does not increase over the duration of the Program.

How do most participants pay? Is financial aid available?

Some students are financially supported by their employer, in part or in full, while other students self-finance. Private loan programs, installment loan plans, tuition payments by major credit cards, and individual plans can be arranged for those students financing their own education. Details on available loans available through the University can be obtained from Campus Enrollment Services at 201-692-2210.
