Institute of Math and Science

The M.A. in Mathematical Foundations and M.A. in Science programs are offered through University College's Institute of Math and Science with administrative office located on the Metropolitan Campus, Teaneck, N.J. The courses are offered at various off-campus locations. Each course is conducted in an eleven week time period.

M.A. in Mathematical Foundations

The Master of Arts in Mathematical Foundations program is designed to prepare "Highly-Qualified" Elementary, Middle School and Special Education Mathematics Teachers. It is not an appropriate program for teachers who hold an undergraduate degree in mathematics.

M.A. in Science

The Master of Arts in Science program is designed to prepare "Highly-Qualified" Elementary, Middle School and Special Education Science Teachers. Teachers interested in updating and advancing their knowledge - or who must complete an advanced degree or graduate courses - will find this program ideal for their needs.

Candidates can hold a baccalaureate degree in any area of study. Secondary school science teachers with an undergraduate degree in science wishing to broaden their professional skills and career options also may find the program attractive.
