Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It gives me great pleasure to announce that FDU NOW, The Campaign for Fairleigh Dickinson University, has exceeded $30 million in commitments toward a campaign goal of $50 million.
Alumni, corporations, foundations, faculty, staff, parents and friends continue to support our historical campaign, despite the current economic climate in our nation. For example, the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, one of the nation’s most respected philanthropies, recently made a $60,000 grant to the University’s Urban Pre-College Program. This campus residential program for inner city high school students is administered by FDU’s Educational Opportunity Fund and led by Marjorie Hall and Brad Levy.
In its letter to the University, the Dodge Foundation wrote, “Your work is helping to create a generation who will possess the critical and creative thinking skills needed to live in a sustainable world. By providing a leg-up for young people, you are having a much larger and deeper impact on society than we can possibly imagine.” The Dodge Foundation gift is not only an affirmation of our Urban Pre-College Program, but also a declaration of confidence in this University’s ability to deliver cutting-edge programs.
Those of us who are knocking on doors, who are speaking to potential donors, know that our success is directly attributable to the education received by our alumni and students. It is what you do each and every day that is changing lives and sustaining our reputation.
Thank you,
Michael Adams
