Offered in cooperation with the JCC on the Palisades in Tenafly, NJ, and the UJA Federation of Northern New Jersey, FDU's Judaic Studies Program provides opportunities for learners of all ages and with varying familiarity with Judaism to explore more than three thousand years of Jewish culture, history, philosophy, and literature from the Bible to contemporary Jewish thought and society.
WHAT? Courses include Basic Jewish Thought, The Hebrew Bible, Judaism and Modernity, the History of the Jewish People, The Holocaust: Philosophical Perspectives, Jerusalem: The Holy City, Matisyahu: Behind the Lyrics, Contemporary Jewish Fiction, Ancient Israel, Contemporary Jewish Thought, Zionism and Its Critics, and Judaism in the Middle Ages.
WHO? Courses are appropriate for college students, advanced high school students, adult learners, and seniors. Courses may be taken for credit and transferred to most accredited colleges and universities.
WHERE? Courses are offered off-campus at the JCC on the Palisades at 411 East Clinton Avenue | Tenafly, New Jersey 07670.
WHEN? Courses are offered in Fall, Spring and Summer semesters on weekday evenings.
HOW MUCH? Students taking courses for credit pay $557 per credit plus a $11 per credit technology fee. Students auditing courses pay $797 per course plus a $11 per credit technology free. Senior citizens can audit courses for a special $250 rate. All students pay a $40 non-refundable application fee.
