Students admitted to the MSEE program have the option to take courses on campus or over the Internet or both. Moreover, students can complete the entire degree program over the Internet without the campus residency requirement. The new online program builds upon the internationally recognized MSEE program offered at the Teaneck-Hackensack campus with a 35-year tradition of academic excellence. It has the same admission requirements, academic standards, and evaluation process as the traditional classroom program.
The Online Master of Science in Electrical Engineering program is designed to meet the needs of working Engineering professionals who find it difficult to attend traditional classroom based courses. Taking advantage of today's technologies with the latest telecommunications and computer technologies, Fairleigh Dickinson University's Gildart Haase School of Computer Sciences and Engineering is now offering the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree program via the Internet. Web-based Electrical Engineering graduate courses can be taken from anywhere in the world that is convenient to you. All that is needed is a computer with Internet connectivity and the motivation to study on your own schedule. You can either just take those courses you are interested in or earn credits towards a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree. The on-line MSEE degree program is designed to be completed entirely over the Internet without any residential requirement.
Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) is licensed by the New Jersey State Board of Higher Education to confer the Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE). The University is accredited by the Commission of Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. After Association approval FDU's MSEE on-line offering, started in the Fall 1998 semester and continued the MSEE program's long tradition of academic excellence.
The distance learning program builds upon the existing traditional campus-based MSEE program offered at the Metropolitan campus and formerly at FDU's Fort Monmouth Graduate Extension Center. The curriculum and course contents of the on-line program are the same as the existing program offered by the School of Computer Sciences and Engineering. The only difference is the method of delivery.
Students can also connect to the courses using computers at any FDU location including FDU's Metropolitan Campus, College at Florham, or the Extension Site at Fort Monmouth in Eatontown, NJ. However, most will prefer to connect from the comfort of their home or office. World Wide Web access will be the primary means of communication between students and faculty. Ongoing guidance via the Internet, fax, and telephone will be available from your professors throughout the course. Our web-based lecture notes contain graphics and mathematical equations in addition to text.
To register, students must have a bachelor's degree, but it need not be in electrical engineering. Students whose undergraduate degree is in a field other than electrical engineering may have to meet specific undergraduate prerequisites in order to matriculate in an MSEE degree program. This, however, is not applicable to students simply taking selected courses. Courses may be taken as non-degree students or as degree candidates.
Tuition scholarships are available for FDU Corporate Educational Partnership employees. Please contact the office of Online Programs at online@fdu.edu or 201-692-7357 for further information.
