The general-theoretical program in psychology is intended to provide basic preparation for doctoral-level study in more specialized areas of the field. However, the curriculum is sufficiently flexible to allow for pre-professional concentrations in various areas, i.e., child development, experimental psychology and behavior disorders.
The courses offered by the school are designed to meet the needs of students who wish to prepare for service in various scientific and professional areas of psychology, such as research and teaching. In addition, courses in this program should be taken by those students who wish to develop a background for subsequent work leading to a doctorate.
