FOR NEW FRESHMEN STUDENTS

For entering full-time freshmen, FDU offers a wide range of scholarships that recognize and reward outstanding performance in high school — as well as exceptional leadership and service in your school and community.

Col. Fairleigh S. Dickinson Scholarships

$16,000 to $25,000 per year

• Academic scholarships awarded to qualified, first-time freshmen.
• Recommended Criteria: 1200 SAT on a 1600 scale (27 ACT); 3.5 GPA and above.
• Renewable up to four years.

Deans' Scholarships

$10,000 to $15,750 per year

• Academic scholarships awarded to qualified, first-time freshmen.
• Recommended Criteria: 1050 SAT on a 1600 scale (23 to 26 ACT); 3.0 GPA and above.
• Renewable up to four years.

Provosts' Scholarships

$3,000 to $9,500 per year

• Recognizes academic achievement of qualified, first-time freshmen with a proven record of outstanding leadership and/or community service.
• Recommended Criteria: Awarded based on academic record, leadership abilities and extracurricular activities.
• Renewable up to four years.

ADDITIONAL GRANTS AND NEED-BASED FINANCIAL AID

FDU provides a variety of need-based funding and special grants in addition to its generous scholarships.

Note: These grants can be combined with scholarships.

FDU Need-Based Grants*

Up to $20,000

• Provides funding based on need to full-time students.
• Criteria: Determined through the filing of the FAFSA.
• Renewal of the grant is subject to satisfactory academic progress, full-time enrollment and continued financial need.

Children of Alumni Grant

$1,500 per year

• Provides a grant of $1,500 to undergraduate sons and daughters of Fairleigh Dickinson University alumni.
• Awarded annually based on continued full-time enrollment.

FDU Family Grant

$1,500 per year

• Families with two or more dependent children attending as full-time undergraduate students receive a $1,500 grant for each student enrolled at FDU simultaneously.
• Maximum of $1,500 awarded per person annually. Does not apply to students enrolled in Wroxton College and summer sessions, inter-sessions, mini-sessions or other special sessions.

Alumni/Faculty/Trustee Endorsement Grant

$1,000

• Provides a one-time $1,000 grant to new, full-time students carrying at least 12 credits per semester during their first year of attendance.
• Requires that an Alumni/Faculty/Trustee recommendation form be submitted. This form is available online

Athletic Scholarships

Award Amount Varies

• Recognizes superior athletic ability of students participating in NCAA Division I sports at the Metropolitan Campus.
• All recipients are subject to Division I rules and regulations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). For information, call 201-692-2208.

FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships

$16,000 per year

• Recognizes transfer students with an associates degree, and members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK).
• Proof of PTK membership must be attached to application for admission.
• Candidates must have earned an associate degree.
• Renewable annually (maximum two years).

Transfer Scholarships

$5,000 to $12,000 per year

• Open to transfer students who have completed at least 24 college credits.
• Recommended application deadlines: May 1 for fall entry; December 1 for spring entry.
• Renewable for a maximum of three years.

*Note: Need-based programs require financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). New and returning students should file the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1. The FAFSA must be filed annually for renewal.
