For me the library has always been a place where information is transformed into knowledge. It is a place for solace, musing, learning and discovery. It is where anxiety is tempered and understanding is transformed into action. The library is a place that evokes memories from a bygone era. For the scholar and the layman the library has always been and I hope always will be a place where the mind reaches beyond itself. -Maria L. Kocylowsky, speech at Convocation 09/22/ 2010
