Veterans Education at FDU

  • FDU marched in the 2013 Veterans Day Parade in NYC. The University's commemoration of Veterans Day included a ceremony at the flag circle at the Metropolitan Campus, followed by the trip into New York City to march. This was the fifth year FDU has been represented in the parade, and the fourth year of the FDU float showing off the University's commitment to veterans education. Also see candid photos from the 2012 event and candid photos from the 2011 event.

  • Veterans who are current or aspiring entrepreneurs can enroll in the Veterans Launching Ventures program. This unique program combines in-person instruction with online education, and active mentorship to provide skills and support so that you can and launch and/or grow your business.

  • Fairleigh Dickinson University has been named a "Military Friendly School for 2014" by G.I. Jobs magazine, a designation that places it in the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide. This is the fourth consecutive year that FDU has earned this recognition!

  • FDU has hosted a Vets4Vets workshop (first ever on a U.S. university campus -- see photos) and more recently a Vets4Vets Leaders Workshop.

  • Representatives from colleges and universities throughout New Jersey met at FDU to discuss how to better serve veterans on our campuses. The Veterans Education Conference, April 13, 2011, was co-sponsored by the Independent College Fund of New Jersey and Fairleigh Dickinson University, with support from the Wal-Mart Foundation and the American Council on Education Office of Military Programs.

  • Hear Dr. Jason Scorza of the FDU Veterans Education Task Force discussing the unique challenges faced by today's veterans on campus. Scorza is heard on Northeast Public Radio.

  • See the powerful article in FDU Magazine on the successes of FDU's student-veterans.

  • Ryan Enriquez, founder of the FDU Veterans Association, has written a valuable article on the transition from the military to a civilian career.

FDU has been educating America's veterans since 1946, and offers courses that fit your life whatever your age, your branch of service, your duty status, your release date, and your previous college studies if any.

FDU is a proud participant in the GI Bill Yellow Ribbon Program. This participation allows eligible veterans to attend any FDU undergraduate, graduate, or certificate program at no cost to themselves.

You can attend FDU in any of the three ways outlined below. Please follow the links in the columns below to get more information about the FDU academic program that will fit your life and your career plans.

FDU's veterans initiatives are supported in part by a grant award from Walmart and the American Council on Education (ACE).

Eligibility for Chapter 33 benefits does not guarantee admission to FDU; eligibility for Chapter 33 benefits is determined by the VA not by FDU.

Information was collected from the website of the Department of Veterans Affairs and is accurate to the best of our knowledge at this time. Veterans should rely on official VA documentation and policies in determining their individual eligibility for educational benefits.
