A registered nurse, Professor Levine supervised the Intensive Care Unit and Recovery Room at Montefiore Hospital in New York City before starting her teaching career at FDU.
In her words….
On teaching: "Taking the time to care is the key to helping students be successful. Because we have small classes, it allows a professor the opportunity to know each and every student. FDU also encourages us to develop new courses and to change old curricula. I enjoy these challenges."
On FDU students: "Our students are an eclectic group. They not only come from all over the country but from all over the world. Because the emphasis is on each student achieving their best, students are not in competition with their classmates…only with themselves. Each student must reach certain levels of academic excellence, but everyone takes a slightly different path to get there. I believe this creates friendships in the classroom."
On Lydia Horvath: "Lydia is a professor's dream. She is an outstanding biology student - bright, always cheerful, a very hard worker, always on task, an academic achiever, helps other students, and is well liked by her peers…what else can I say? She is a pleasure to have in class and sets an excellent example for other students. I am sure that she will be a very fine doctor someday soon."
On the FDU Culture: "At Fairleigh Dickinson, students are encouraged to be their very best. They know that the entire faculty, student body and staff are on their side to help them achieve their goal. This encourages friendship and school spirit. I think our students are happy and productive. College should be the best four years of your life and I think FDU students get four great years. This is what college is all about."
