Some 2-day courses available, $300
Have you always wanted to ride but don't know how to get started? Do you ride now and want to polish your skills? This course is ideal for beginners and re-entry riders of any age. No experience necessary, but you must have a good sense of balance and the ability to ride a bicycle.
A minimum of five hours classroom instruction prepares the student for about ten hours of practical riding in a controlled, off-street environment. You will learn basic motorcycle operation, strategies to stay safe, and how to maneuver a motorcycle in tough situations - including swerving, avoiding collisions, special situations, lane changes and avoiding hazards.
Motorcycles and helmets are provided. ![]()
This is a demanding course: a lot is packed into 2.5 days, with two RiderCoaches per 12 students. Students may be removed if they can not meet the objectives of riding exercises and will not be eligible for a refund.
Successful completion qualifies students with unrestricted (non-GDL) NJ licenses to receive a waiver for the NJ MVC Road Test, as well as insurance premium discounts with some motorcycle insurers.

One-time MVC Re-test Option with the A-BRC instruction
(NJ MVC now allows us 180 days to retest those students who took the BRC at FDU and passed their Knowledge Test but not the Road Test.)
Have you taken a basic course and want more practice? This course gives riders an opportunity to further develop the skills learned in a entry level course. Students must have recently taken a basic MSF course, regardless of passing.
It offers a refresher on classroom topics, and a minimum of four hours riding time. We provide motorcycles and helmets.

One-day course, $125
Ideal for the moderately experienced rider wanting extra practice on their own bike. This is an intermediate level course designed to improve riding skills on your own motorcycle. It will better prepare you for the variety of street riding situations you encounter every day.
There is a minimum of four hours of riding time on your own motorcycle.

One-day course, $125 (an additional $25 for passengers)
No matter how long you've been riding, the ERC will challenge your skills. Designed for riders that frequently ride their own bike and have been licensed for a minimum of six months or a minimum of 3,000 miles. It makes an ideal 'refresher' course and is also valuable for experienced riders who need to familiarize themselves with a new bike. This is not a high performance riding school. It is intended to help you polish those skills that motorcycle accident research has shown were lacking in those riders who crashed.
This course includes 1.5 hours of classroom with a written knowledge test, and a minimum of four hours riding your own motorcycle. Passengers are permitted - get a feel for riding two-up and how it can change the bike's handling characteristics. The ERC will help to sharpen your street riding awareness and will hone your street survival riding skills. Successful completion of this course qualifies NJ riders for a two-point reduction of traffic violation points, and possible insurance discounts.

TAKE A COURSE. After all, you tune up your motorcycle in order to maintain it in top operating condition, why not do the same for yourself? You 'll be glad that you have taken the time to improve your riding "health."
